Mwinnabang Anita-Pearl Ankor is a self taught multidisciplinary Artist from Nandom, Upper West Region in Ghana.

Mwinnabang is a multiple award winning Artist, she is the creative director and CEO of Jagreh Customs which focuses on producing murals and artifacts, she is also very passionate about fashion design and styling.
She is a co-manager of Tengan Heritage Museum, a museum focused on sourcing and exploring artifacts related to the culture and traditions of the Dagara people.

One of her greatest achievements is having her journey and story told in a few creative Arts course books for junior high schools in Ghana. She serves as a mentor and inspiration for any talented Girl child who wishes to pursue their dream of being a visual artist/painter in Ghana which is a male dominated industry, she does not fail to encourage and urge them to believe in themselves and practice daily.

Mwinnabang’s art pieces are usually very brightly coloured with a lot of patterns and Northern masks markings which always seeks to create a positive atmosphere in whatever space they are installed in. Her pieces also help bring people together and spark conversations.

Her work explores African philosophies such as our reality, possibilities, space, time and consciousness, as well as subjects on freedom and moral philosophies.

Mwinnabang’s art is centered around finding oneself, breaking stereotypes, mental health, the necessities of knowing your roots, the customs and traditions of where one hails from and how the history and stories of our ancestors can influence our lives. She finds it exciting to learn more about this and to take everyone through the journey of finding her self, she is doing this by shinning more light on the way of life and practices of the Dagara people in the Upper West Region of Ghana through Art and Fashion.

Mwinnabang has also launched an adult colouring book called La Kome, which means ‘laugh for me’ in the dagara language. This colouring book was birthed during a very depressing period in her life, this colouring book seeks to help adults who are struggling with mental health issues like anxiety and depression.
